Eveready Battery Company, Inc. is an American manufacturer of batteries. Since 1896, EVEREADY batteries have provided reliable portable power for any device. The history of Eveready's success begins on January 10, 1899, when Conrad Hubert, the owner of the company, American Electrical Novels and Manufacturing Company received a patent for the production of lanterns.
A significant event was marked in 1905 - Hubert assigns the name to the American Ever Ready Company, the Ever Ready trademark enters the market, 1914 - the American Ever Ready Company became part of the National Carbon Company, the name was shortened to the Eveready we are familiar with, 1957 - the alkaline battery was created.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, modern manufacturing facilities are located in Asheboro, North Carolina; Bennington, Vermont; Maryville, Missouri; and Marietta, Ohio, but the majority of batteries are manufactured in China.
