Which batteries are the best?

We'd like to say that the best batteries are those that don't drain, but such a thing doesn't exist. In this article, we'll explore which power sources can claim to be the best!

Finding the best batteries

Today the main groups of batteries on the market are salineand alkaline. They are hidden under various brand names, for example Panasonic, Durasell, Kodaketc. We will make a choice which power supply is better based on tests conducted by specialists.

Which batteries are the best?

Test AA batteriesThe experiment was conducted by a laboratory at the Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology. The following well-known brands participated in the experiment:

  1. Energizer
  2. Duracell
  3. GP Super Alkaline battery
  4. Trophy
  5. Kodak

All power sources except Trophy and Duracell were packaged in a plastic blister and had an expiration date of 2021.

Test #1.

Experts tested how quickly batteries drain when continuously discharged. You can try this experiment too! Get a new one. galvanic cell, insert it into the flashlight, turn it on, and time it. This will tell you how long it takes for the battery to fully discharge.

Results:

1st place – Kodak 0.9 hours

2nd place - GP Super Alkaline battery and Trophy 0.8 hours

3rd place – Duracell 0.72 hours

4th place – Energizer0.64 h

Test #2.

This experiment involved pulsed discharge. This means the device is alternately discharged and then not discharged. It's somewhat reminiscent of flicking a light switch. This test simulates the operation of a camera.

Result of the pulse experiment:

  1. Duracell – 4.72 h
  2. Kodak – 4:43 a.m.
  3. GP – 4.38 h
  4. Trophy – 3.66 h
  5. Energizer – 3.58 h

As a result, batteries are the most profitable Kodak companyThey demonstrated high performance during continuous discharge and showed good results in pulse testing. They are also the most cost-effective.

It all depends on the devices that need power. For very powerful devices, Duracell batteries are suitable. For example, they can be used in cameras. If the load is light, such as a wall clock, an Energizer can be used.
