Every few years, the battery in a Mercury 234 meter fails. But not everyone knows which battery is required or whether it can be replaced.
The current source in the Mercury 234 is needed to power the built-in clock and to detect attempts to open the meter. Therefore, if you suddenly decide to tamper with the device, the electronics will detect you and send the data to the appropriate authorities.
The Mercury 234 battery is located under the cover, and replacing it requires opening it, which is a violation. Therefore, you shouldn't do this yourself; instead, you should call a specialist from a company that specializes in this.

- Based on the type of electrolyte, it is a lithium battery.
The plate terminals are permanently spot-welded to the battery. The 234V mercury battery itself is sealed under several seals. As a result, reaching the battery is extremely difficult.
When the battery voltage drops to 2.2–2.65 volts, it needs to be replaced. Otherwise, the display will display errors such as E-48 and E-01.
